P90x and Hair Status

Ok Ok Ok. I know I have been MIA for about a week now, but I am back with updates on my P90x workouts and my hair!

So far so good! I am on day 5 now and I can feel the burn!! Not the burn as in what the perm used to do but the physical burn of working out. I love it. I can say that P90x is a little bit of a challenge but I will prevail!! Today I will be working on my legs and back and those are my favorites to do.

I feel great and I can tell that my metabolism in in high gear. I make sure to include my healthy snacks and all into my nutrition regimen. They lay it all out for you.

As far as my hair goes, well I have been wearing a Chunky Twist out. What I mean is that I co-washed and Deep Conditioned my hair on Sunday then I applied ABBA Pure Gentle along with Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk that I purchased at our Houston meet and greet last month. I am loving the results.

I just grabbed a chunk of coils and twisted them. I had about 8 or 9 twists. Then I let it airdry overnight and in the morning I took the twists down and applied KBB Hair Milk to my hair and donned an ouchless headband. I pushed the headband to the back about halfway on my head and then slid it back to the front about half of an inch creating a hump. I applied gel to the front to kind of smooth it down.

I have been wearing this for four days without rewetting it and it has been doing well. It's very low maintenace and looks great!

Also, it stays coily and not frizzy.

P90x Here I Come!

I have been scoping out P90x for about 2 years and I finally decided to buy it. I received it in the mail on yesterday and I am going to do the Fit Test tonight. I am so excited!! I will be keeping you all posted on my progress.

I am shooting for the toned and slightly defined look. I am not going for bulk.

On the hair tip, I don’t have to worry about sweating out my perm and all that business!! Natural is the way to be for me!

What do I need to do with my hair?

How should I style my hair next?

Have you ever felt like you don’t know what to do with your natural hair? Well I am at that point once again. I don’t want to wear a puff each day. I have worn the puff on every side of my head. I just want something different. Well, I went off and began doing my hair in different styles besides the puff, but I am not getting the results that I would like. Some of the styles I am trying to do are soooo time consuming.

Styles I’ve Tried

I’ve tried Twist Outs. On the first day they look just fine, but on that second day it’s like what in the world has happened. I sleep on a satin pillow case each night and I even wear a satin bonnet.

I’ve tried the Bantu Knot Out and again it looks fine on the first day but the second day isn’t so appealing to me.

I’ve tried Two Stranded Twists but they reaaaallllly shrink. I know I could try them on dry hair but I love the smooth look of the twists when I do them wet on wet hair.

I’ve tried the Twist-N-Curl, but it doesn’t last very long for me. I would like something that will last at least 3 to 4 days and look awesome.

I must say that my Twists Set on the Flexi-rods did well, but it is very time consuming. I will probably do this about once every six weeks.

My Possible Solutions

~ I usually don’t re-twist at night but I will try doing this with the twists and the bantu knots
~ Twist dry hair using a hair butter instead of a wet product

Does anyone have any suggestions or pics? Please feel free to provide any suggestions you may have or even send me some of the different natural styles that you have rocked!
