The Mane Debate: Why is it that we want what we don’t have?

Happy Thankful Thursday!

This morning on the today show they talked about Curly vs Straight which isn’t something new to our ears.   I thought that some of the things they were saying were pretty interesting so I decided to share it with you all.  Some of the comments they had were people with straight hair are more dependable and more conservative.  People with curly hair are more adventurous, more creative, and don’t care what others think.  Check it out by clicking on the picture below.

Who's Your Hair Crush?

Have you ever seen a picture or a person with hair so fierce that for an instant you wish you had hair like theirs?  I have and I think you all have been there and done that too.   I found the picture below and thought her hair was gorgeous!  I love how full and luscious it looks.  I don’t know who she is but I love how her hair looks.  Anyway, who is your hair crush?  Please share and don’t hold back.  Now after you finish crushing about someone’s hair, show yours some love so it doesn’t feel abandoned.  I love my hair, but every now and then I get a crush rush and have to stop and stare.  Please share your hair crushes with us!

Longest Dreadlocks on a Woman

This morning on The Early Show, Asha Mandela beat her own record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest dreadlocks on a woman. Last year it was measured at 8ft 6in. This year she has 3.5 lbs of hair measuring at a whopping 19ft 6.5 in!!

Guess Who's Natural?

Ms. Raven Symone. I think her curls are gorgeous! It's great to see more people proudly rockin' their natural hair in its natural state. I wonder what she does for her curl definition.

For me, I like to go for that coily look at times. It all depends on my mood and how I feel like styling my hair. Lately, when I am not bunning, I've been defining my curls using products that I used when I first went natural. I haven't been able to give up the gel fully either.

To define my curls I

• Co-wash
• Apply Abba Pure Gentle Leave-In Conditioner
• Apply Elasta QP's Feels Like Silk
• Apply Clear Ice Gel
• Shake and Go

To moisturize my coils, I apply my Nourishing Hair Butter at night then sleep on a satin pillow case.To refresh my coils in the morning, I gently fluff out my coils after wetting my hands with water.

Who is Yara Shahidi?

I ran across this picture of young actress Yara Shahidi and her beautiful two strand twists. They are so pretty! This makes me want to twist mine. Her latest movie with Eddie Murphy, “Imagine That”, will be out this summer. You can view more of her pictures of her beautiful crown here.
